The women of the prison hospital are (mentally) sick, and the increasing winter cold makes everything worse. But they love it, when our chaplain comes. She brings words of Hope, she shows love and attention and that alone is a world of difference for them.
in the northernmost prison of Albania Reç our chaplain sometimes has up to 60 men that attend ‘church’ meetings. One man literally said: ‘This meeting gives me energy for the whole week’. That’s also what several men of the prison in Fushe Kruje told me in private about our group: ‘Thank you so much for coming. I’m always looking forward to your arrival’.
We can share similar stories of families of prisoners: No one cares for us, we could as well not exist, but you come and look after us’
